“Expansion of Werribee Mercy. Duplication of PC road. Better public transport routes. Well maintained/landscaped parks and reserves. Increased police numbers, not buildings. More schools as current ones seem overpopulated. Environmentally I would love someone to find out more about PFAS contamination at the PC RAAF base, not just Williams Landing. Feel like this was never properly addressed and attempts to find out more have fallen on deaf ears.”
If elected, I will prioritize these and work with the community and fellow councillors to address these issues.
These came out loud and clear in the community survey. They are also issues I have campaigned on too.
As a dedicated member of the community, a long-term resident of Featherbrook Ward, and a former councillor of Wyndham, I am committed to making a real difference in the lives of our community.
Throughout my previous time in office, and as a resident of Point Cook, I have gained valuable insights into the needs and concerns of our community. As someone that lives here, with kids that went to school here, I have a solid understanding of the issues that matter most to our community.
If elected, these are some key initiatives I will work towards for Featherbrook Ward:
1. Prioritizing public safety through pushing the State Government for more Police Members, vehicles and resources at the Point Cook Police Station, fighting to ensure these add to the service capability of Wyndham, not robbing Peter to pay Paul.
2. Improving traffic flow and safety by advocating for more off street parking options, timely construction of traffic lights at Point Cook Rd and Sneydes Rd, and enhancing pedestrian access to public transport. I will work with my fellow councillors in building solutions to our traffic issues.
3. For Wyndham City to advocate for more bus services connecting Wyndham Residents to local job hubs. You should not be forced to drive to local work. As a part of this advocacy, seek a partnership with Hobsons Bay City Council, to push for a bus network that gets you to where you need to be, on time.
4. Enhancing access to healthcare by advocating for more facilities, within Point Cook community and improving the capacity of Werribee Mercy. This includes advocating for a reduction in Ambulance Ramping.
5. Advocate for better access to education such as TAFE and University, and for more schools in the community. I will also fight for better access to Apprenticeships and Traineeship course.
6. Fostering local employment opportunities and economic growth to support the lives and livelihoods of Point Cook residents. This includes encouraging Work from Home opportunities.
I will emphasize transparent and inclusive decision-making processes that prioritize community input and feedback to address the needs and concerns of our community. I believe in inclusive decision-making processes. This includes setting minimum consultation numbers for where community input is sought.
My goal is to foster a welcoming and thriving environment for all residents, where their voices are heard and their needs are met. I humbly ask my community for their support and the opportunity to serve as your representative in local government.
Together, we can be “Vocal 4 Local” and build a brighter future for Point Cook, and Wyndham as a whole. I look forward to the opportunity to earn your trust and represent the best interests of our community.
